The builders who shaped modern industry weren’t always recognized in their time. Karl Benz. Thomas Edison. The Wright brothers. Chester Carlson. Stephanie Kwolek. Swanson and Boyer. They were called too early, too risky, too unproven. They built the infrastructure the modern world still runs on.

That pattern never ended.

Today’s overlooked U.S. scientist-entrepreneurs hold prototyped solutions to humanity’s largest problems, in materials science and energy resilience to quantum and biological sciences.

They include the researcher, the engineer, the experienced technologist outside traditional hubs, the displaced F500 engineer, and the scientist building far from the coasts. Too often, they are filtered out of capital markets by proxies that have little to do with their ability to build enduring companies around their bold ideas.

We exist to identify and partner with these founders at the moment deep technical insight meets industrial consequence: before the market has a name for what a company does, before the category exists, before the capital crowds in. We underwrite physics, biology, and engineering, not hyped-up narratives. We spend our time in laboratories and on factory floors, because that is where the future of critical industry is actually decided. We support them based on the strength of what they're building and the clarity of where it can go.

Belinda Ephraim

Belinda Kǒkóèkà Bernadette Bassey Ephraim is a systems thinker, venture investor, and entrepreneur working at the threshold where frontier science becomes industry and industry becomes institution.

She is the Founding General Partner and Managing Director of TENSEUR, a seed-stage venture capital firm backing overlooked U.S. scientist-entrepreneurs building critical industrial technologies before consensus forms. TENSEUR invests at the TRL 5 inflection point, where technical validation begins the difficult transition to commercial scale.

Belinda’s career began in corporate investment banking and infrastructure finance. At SunTrust, Merrill Lynch Capital, Siemens, and Bank of America, she advised on, underwrote, financed, and managed a $37 billion portfolio of industrial, infrastructure, and technology transactions. She later led revenue strategy and growth across a 13-property hospitality portfolio totaling more than 1,800 rooms for management companies, private investors, and public REITs.

She is also the founder of KOKOBÉRNA, a self-funded boutique skincare biotech company built through multidisciplinary research spanning formulation science, dermatology, neuroscience, chemical engineering, manufacturing, and regulatory systems. The company serves as an operating laboratory for transforming proprietary formulations and inventions into distinctive, market-ready products.

Belinda hosts and executive produces The NEO Industrialist Podcast, where she convenes scientists, engineers, founders, policymakers, and investors shaping the future of science, industry, and capital.

Born in Nigeria and raised across Nigeria and the United Kingdom, Belinda is now an American citizen whose life across sixteen cities has shaped a global perspective on markets, cultures, and institutions.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in corporate finance from the University of Florida, graduating cum laude with a minor in entrepreneurship.
