Foundations, endowments, and sovereign wealth funds: patient capital matched to industrial time, with grants and other non-dilutive capital alongside equity when they help a company reach its next milestone.
Funds of funds and GP seeding programs: a focused first fund with a defined Technology Readiness Level 5 entry gate, led by a GP who underwrites like a lender.

Fund Overview

Investment Stage: Seed-stage industrial deep technology startups with TRL 5+ prototypes.
Geographical Focus: Primarily U.S.-based.
Investment Exclusions: TENSEUR does not invest in software businesses, including SaaS, computational biology platforms, and computational materials platforms, whose primary asset is code sold to discover, operate, monitor, or optimize systems they do not own or make. TENSEUR also does not invest in consumer products or consumer hardware, fintech, crypto, gambling, video games, cannabis, or tobacco. It does not invest in companies whose primary product is a weapon designed to cause lethal harm. Dual-use companies, whose frontier technologies serve commercial markets and mission-driven organizations alike, are within scope.
A therapeutics company may run quantum simulations to design the molecules it develops. A semiconductor company, fabless or integrated, may write its own firmware. A quantum company may write control software for machines it builds. These are not software companies. The exclusion applies to businesses whose only value is the software layer itself.

Investor and Deployment Profile

Investor Archetypes: Industrial corporates, foundations, endowments, sovereign wealth funds, funds of funds and GP seeding programs, family offices, and qualified individual investors.

Investment Parameters and Logistics

Commitments Currently Discussed: $50,000 to $5,000,000 (median allocation: $300,000).
Ways to Invest: Cash, trusts, entities, IRAs, 401(k), or non-U.S. structures.
Compliance: Prospective limited partners should expect third-party verification of accredited investor status, KYC and AML review, and CFIUS-related screening before any interest is issued. The third-party fund administrator would likely repeat those screens annually. A subscription is not complete until those initial screens are completed and the Governing Documents fully executed.
